               Hurst Gunite Contractors, Inc., located in Birmingham AL, was founded in August 1962 by Gene G. Hurst, Professional Engineer and a graduate of the University of Tennessee with a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering. The company has designed and constructed over a thousand commercial and residential pools in Alabama and Georgia since the companies opening. Hurst Pools is the oldest swimming pool contractor in Alabama and one of the oldest in the Southeast. The company is known for its customer satisfaction and construction expertise.

              They are honored to be a member of the Master Pools Guild,Inc., an elite group of approx. 100 pool builders located in North America, who have exhibited the highest level of craftsmanship in the Industry.                In addition, Hurst Gunite Pools have been selected as one of the top 50 Pool Builders in the U.S. by Pool And Spa News in their "Industry's Choice Awards" competitions (1998 - 2002). Winners were determined by votes from pool and spa professionals across the United States. Voters were asked to consider the following criteria when making their decisions: design skills; construction expertise; sales and marketing techniques; business practices; customer satisfaction; and community service.

               Hurst Gunite's pools are designed using standards established by the National Pool and Spa Institute. Computer aided drawings are used to design the best location and shape for customers needs. They also work with some of the finest Landscape Architects in the area.
